How to Measure for Motorsport Teamwear
Getting the right fit for your race team starts with three accurate measurements: chest, waist, and sleeve length. Use a soft tailor's tape and measure over a thin t-shirt — never over a hoodie or jacket. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug, but not tight. For drivers and mechanics who spend long hours in the garage, we recommend sizing for movement rather than a tailored finish, so you stay comfortable through long race weekends.
- Chest: measure around the fullest part, under the arms, with arms relaxed at your sides.
- Waist: measure around your natural waistline, roughly one inch above the navel.
- Sleeve: from the centre back of the neck, across the shoulder, down to the wrist with a slight bend in the elbow.
- Hip: for trousers and shorts, measure around the widest point of the hips.
Choosing the Right Tent or Awning Size
Tent and awning sizing depends on the scale of your operation, the number of karts or cars you run, and the equipment you bring trackside. As a guide for paddock planning:
- 3x3m canopy: ideal for solo drivers, hospitality corners or single-kart setups.
- 3x4.5m canopy: covers one kart with tools, fuel and a small workbench.
- 3x6m canopy: works well for two karts or a single GT car with pit equipment.
- 4x6m to 4x8m canopy: suited to multi-kart teams, tyre warmers and a hospitality area.
- 6x10m to 8x12m race awning: full team paddock structures for GT, rally and endurance crews.
Always allow at least 1 metre of clearance on each side for sidewalls, banners and walkways. If you plan to combine multiple structures into a paddock village, our team can produce a CAD layout of your pit allocation before you order — just send us the dimensions of your space.
Fit, Fabric & Care Notes
Our motorsport teamwear is cut for an athletic, modern fit — not slim, not boxy. Polos, fleeces and softshells use 4-way stretch panels under the arms and across the back so you can move freely while refuelling, changing tyres or signalling on the pit wall. Sublimation print is permanent, will not crack, and is rated for industrial wash cycles up to 40°C. For longest life, wash inside-out, avoid fabric softener, and air dry where possible. If you sit between two sizes on the chart, we suggest sizing up for layering during cold European race weekends and sizing down for fitted hospitality polos.
Need Help Choosing?
Every team is different, and the right size often comes down to how you use the kit. Whether you are outfitting a karting academy, a GT3 squad, or a national rally programme, our team has helped thousands of crews specify the correct sizes the first time. Contact us by WhatsApp or email with your driver list, and we will produce a per-person size sheet you can confirm before production starts. We can also send fit samples on request for larger orders.
